Arkansas Waterfalls - Second Edition by Tim Ernst

Like a lot of adventure loving Arkansans, this guidebook serves as my tried and true on the trail. I received two copies of this book for a Christmas gift in 2021. One copy stays in my pack at all times; while the other stays home and serves as a study guide before bed.

The very first thing that caught my eye when I initially skimmed through this book is the high quality, bright images of each and every single waterfall described. I could spend all day simply flipping and admiring the photography displayed.

Related to his writing, I have found that Ernst is very accurate in his descriptions, especially when describing the difficulty of each hike/bushwhack. He gives detailed directions to each trailhead/parking location. Under each waterfall listed is the phone number for emergency services in that county, which I appreciate.

In my eyes, Tim Ernst is a legend in the state of Arkansas. His guidebooks are among the highest quality.
